With Marcos Liyo, Alfredo de Jorge, Sylvia Iparraguirre and Juan Sasturain
Monday, 26 October 2026
6 p.m. (GMT−4)
We will explore the paradoxical yet inseparable relationship between Jorge Luis Borges and humour, challenging the image of the rigid, “solemn writer”.
From irony and satire to sharp retorts and conversational wit, Borges displayed his sense of humour through his quick-witted spontaneous responses, literary ironies and lively repartee with journalists and in public — revealing a side of the humour he also cultivated in private.
With the support of the Canton of Geneva and the Embassy of Switzerland in Argentina.
Free in-person talk at the Alliance Française, Avenida Córdoba 946, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
